I yearn
I yearn
Oh how i yearn
For the longing stares across the classroom
For the jackets that don’t belong to me
For the long nights cuddled on the sofa
For the winter mornings with hot cocoa
For the evening sunsets with ice cream
For the fall walks, laughing and holding hands
For the spring afternoons with water guns and smiles on our faces
For your scent in the air
For the nights spent late watching anime
For the mornings waking up to each other
For the dancing in the rain
For the snowmen in the snow
For your head on my lap
For my hands in your hair
For cold fingers intertwined beneath sleeves
For the hugs that make the world quieter
For the kisses that taste like melted ice cream
For everything
For everything I define a permanent home
For a place we can put our baggage
I yearn
Oh how I yearn
But dare I say it
For at the end of the day
Yearning it is too much
For someone so young
You’re too young to yearn
Or they’ll tell you you are
Never yearn
For when you do
They’ll tell you not to
Yearn for grades
They say
Never a home
