I Write the Words That Rhyme

At first, I thought
(mere) words
were singing to me.
How beautiful the words
that rhyme.
They play on a harp –
on love and on life,
on you and on me –
some sweet humble melody.

(mere) words…
At first, I thought?
Now, you’re
singing to me!
I write the words that rhyme.
Pray?
May humble be my melody.
A play on my harp –
on love and on life,
on you and on me –
some sweet humble melody.

At first, I thought
(mere) words…
Now my prayer.
How beautiful the words
As I sing –
May my words
stroke the harp –
my sweet humble melody
to You.

I enjoyed your poem on rhyme. Especially like your ending to your special person.
