I Write
I could spend all day reading; I write.
Reading you and you and you, endless;
I throw a kiss, who did I miss; I cannot
please everyone and I dare to write
and post-it-note so many in my mind.
Not one of you is plain yellow; blues,
pinks, orange-crush pinned-up.
I am choosy. Looking for your best;
the real you, and what you choose to say.
Say it well. Don’t scatter verbiage; falling
leaves of humid Autumn. Keep them crisp,
colorful, beautifully shaped, prepared
to grab my hand, exposed to the elements.
I could spend all day reading; I write.
I must capture a little of today for myself.
