I Write

I write because I must
       to give a voice to what is within
I keep this voice suppressed by 
      fear of judgement 

I do not have the spoken words 
        theycomeoutinarush
awkward and limiting 

only later do I realise how I could have expressed myself better 

this way I can edit 
      thoughtfully
      carefully 

and allow my greater awareness
       my wiser self 
to choose the right words
for the right occasion
