I Would If I Could, But I Can'T

I would if I could, but I can’t Put that shelf up for you dear Someone has taken my tools I thought I made that clear I would if I could, but I can’t Go shopping with you today My feet are rather tired No, home I will have to stay I would if I could, but I can’t Fix that leak under the bath My back is very sore today Are you having a laugh? I would if I could, but I can’t Go throw out all the trash You know what I’m like with those germs I’ll come out in rash Now you better get yourself upstairs In the bathroom there’s a bit of a flood I’d really love to help you out But I can’t, but if I could, then I would.

I enjoyed reading your humorous poem, Gary! All I can say is, "excuses, excuses!" Love, Kim
