I Would Go Back

I would go back to a simpler day
When I sat on a porch and said "Hey"
To passing neighbors with no cell phone -
I could hear their voice with no ring tone

It's so clear to me what this day lacks -
Marbles and tops and yo-yo's and jacks
I pray St. Pete - if that is my fate -
Says,"Stack your phones well outside the Gate!"

Jan Allison June 6, 2019 at 5:10 AM I think many of us can wish for this too - it irks me when folk will walk into you too focused on their phones whereas in the past you would stop and chat in the street - that said I can take an hour to go to the local shops just chatting with folk but we are a small community and many people know eachother it would be different in a big city. congrats on your win:-) hugs Jan xx
