I Won'T Be Around
In the summer of '69 during my vacation,
Zager and Evans made a prognostication.
They did it with a big hit song.
I hope to God they will be wrong.
If any of us will be alive,
in the year of 2525.
If mankind finds a way to survive,
they just might find
a world of a different kind.
I am not looking towards the scenes
when we will be controlled by machines.
A test tube is no place to start life.
What these guys predicted can cause much strife.
Instead, I am willing to hope for an earth,
where there will be ubiquitous peace and mirth.
We need not look toward a bleak day
if we live our lives in a more natural way.
