I Wonder What It Would Be Like

I wonder what it would be like to be a shooting star
Would I persist or burn up before getting too far.
Just a streak across the sky and then be done
Or maybe I could provide a wish for everyone.

I wonder what it would be like to be the sun
Not to rain and snow on everyone.
Would my energy just shine providing light
Could I help a poor soul escape from the night.

I wonder what it would be like to be the moon
If late at night I worried the sun would come soon.
I could see myself a million miles away
But no one would hear the words that I say.

I wonder what it would be like to be the sky
I would just be awesome no one larger than I.
Would I remain humble or would it go to my head
Although I am blue I can turn the sun red.

I wonder but realize I am just me
Kind of a collection of these things that I see
I don’t know the future or what shall be
I just know that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
