I Wonder

i wonder if i broke your heart,

if you’ll write sad poems about me 
if you’ll wonder why i left you 

i wonder if i gave you issues 
you’ll carry on to the next 
i wonder if you’ll always question 
if what you have is real 

but
i didn’t mean to hurt you that night 
and you’ll never know the real truth 

but 
wasn’t it true that i was scared

and it hurt my heart
to watch you fight 
but it was futile 
because i knew that for once 

i had to choose myself.
