I Woke Up On A Tropical Island

Is this a dream? A hallucination! An Illusion! Is this Beelzebub's magic-mystic-mirage fusion? Is it a paradise? Nirvana! Stratosphere! Heaven! Am I in a psycho-physical eerie cloud seven? I found mangoes, papayas, bananas, and limes. Rose, lily, jasmine, plumeria, and anthuriums Parrots, crows, toucans, turacos, antbirds, and manakin Aren't all these enough to tell me that it's at home I'm in? Crystal clear is the sea I see in calm wave-less motion. That seems as though in eternal dispute with the ocean. Changing colors like actors in a play, changing costumes Immaculately clean and smells as though mixed with perfumes. Grand twilight at the rising of the sun and its setting Seemed classical painting of divinity projecting I felt the flora and fauna fit my feelings so well. I stayed there for a long time, forgetting heaven and hell.

Loved the way you have described your mental state and the flora and fauna of the tropical island in which you mysteriously set foot. Here the margin between illusion and reality is so thin. Enjoyed reading about your wonderful experience. All the Best Chris.

Hi Christuraj, Right now I am engaged with a memoir-writing project - not having enough time to focus on poetry. A few days ago posted a blog explaining the project. Hope you are doing very well. Stay in touch please, Best wishes ~ Mala
