I Wish She Had Not Said That

Faeries around the lamp post
Flirting with me
Show me skin
High-five each other
Showing off their translucent wings
And their singing prowess.

I am amazed; had forgotten them truthfully.
Refusing to believe in this kind of goodness
After the worst six years of my life.
I am thirteen now; it make sense they would show me
themselves, reiterating that I am never alone
I had not seen them since I was seven, in the garden
when Grandma said "There are no such things as faeries."

I wish she had not said that.

As a child, I had enough common sense not to tell my grandmas about the things I saw) P.S.: Faeries exist. It's enough to go for a walk in a night forest alone to make sure of that. P.S.P.S.: A fairy poem, Caren, that made me reminisce. Again)

I love faeries; I believe in them, and they believe in me.
