I Wish

I wish today could be different 
I wish that I wasn't alone 
then again if this weren't true 
who would be with you 
I say that because I'm afraid the cards just aren't in my favor 
you could never be with me 
I hate to admit it's true 
but someone else would still be with you 
I wish somehow you understood what I felt 
I wish you could understand the way I love 
But miracles aren't instore for those like me 
I'm afraid you never were able to see 
I wish that one day it all will be right 
I wish that just for once I could have you at night 
But nights are always cold when you are alone 
with nothing but unforgettable memories to share your bed 
I wish things could be simple 
but they aren't 
For once I wish you would say you loved me 
I wish I could believe it when you do 
I wish that we could have been more than two people 
lost on a gray shore 
I wish that I could be with you 
I wish we could have had more
