I Wish

I wish I knew what to tell you, I wish I could look you in Those sky blue eyes that can trap my gaze for hours, And lie to you. I wish I could tell you this Is all going to be as harmoniously blissful As it started out. Heck, I wish I could lie to myself, Look at myself in the mirror and convince myself This will be perfection. There's a catch, There will always be a catch To this so-called "perfection" we've been living, And it kills me to say each and every word. I'm sorry I'm not the girl for you, Even if my heart physically aches to be Held in your arms. For you to gently whisper in my ear That you love me Until the day God takes you from me. And even then, you will still love me, That our souls are connected through our love. God had another plan For this heart swelling love of ours, And I can tell, only because, You don't have that look in your eyes anymore. I wish I was your one and only, The one you'll love Until the sun sets forever.
