I Will Praise Him In the Receiving and In the Taking Away

The Lord He give’s and the Lord He take’s away
For as I was naked coming into this world
So to will I be naked when I leave
Stripped naked of all unnecessary things
Unnecessary beliefs, hopes and dreams

But with a constant knowing within my heart, my spirit and my soul
He give’s just what I need, just when I need it the most.
To Him be the glory
Blessed be the name
My Lord I will praise
I will praise in the receiving and in the taking away

Though at times my heart will bleed for the pain seems unbearable to proceed
Yet my pain is incomparable to the blood you shed for me
Even in your darkest hour of anguish
Blood seeped from your pores
When a heavenly angel appeared giving strength, for you to carry out your call

Let me pray more fervently
Let me not sleep
For the sorrow of my anguish has not yet reached its peek
For Him who is able to do immeasurably more than I can ever ask or see
According to His power that is at work within me

To Him be the glory
Blessed be the name
My Lord I will praise
I will praise in the receiving and in the taking away
But with a constant knowing within my heart, my spirit and my soul
He give’s just what I need, just when I need it the most
