I Will Not Thank You

I will not thank you
Till the war is over
I am fighting to get them
The right word
The right paper
Where ink will not drain
And my fingers will firm
To speak it best
I will not thank you, honey
Till I get that word
That will run deep
To the chambers of your heart
Where love dwells
And begets more love
Year after year
How do I thank you now
With words dodging me
Each time, my love
In much of me, that I am
And pride myself to be
I see your finger print
Rich in body
And spirit
I love you
