I Will Not Forget Him

They tell me to forget him
People say to move on
Yet none of them can tell me
Exactly how that's done

I haven't  tried to put him
In the back of my mind
I want to share my memories
All of the time

I know the way things are
Reality is he's gone
How can I just let him go
When my love is still so strong

My heart continues to miss him
My soul, yes, it aches
I want to always love him
Even if it's a mistake

I know he can't return to me
I believe that we are done
Most of the good that's in my life 
Came from this special one

So, I will  not appease them
I will not sacrifice
I'm going to live my own way
After all this is my life.
