I Will Not Be Silent

I will not be silent.
I've held it back too long now.
You have me wisp it
under a rug.To never be
heard of again.
To not dare speak of it!

How long will I be a statue
of stone? Solid but not hollow...
but filled...with life!
Screaming to be let out of this
prison of glass! I will not be silent!

Crawling back into this dark abyss...
watching...waiting...planning...
I will not be silent...

I can see...I can hear...the lies
being spit out of your mouth...the cover
up ...I will not be your partner for this
poisonous dance for two any longer
I will not be silent...

Pounding...scraping my fingers nails off...
dripping with blood... for what? For
you to shut me down? Again? As
if I have no voice. No rights... I will
not be held silent any longer...

Nicely expressed, we should all be allowed to speak our minds. Your poem screams with pent up anger and desire to be heard. Very cool.

Chris, thank you! It has been building up inside for awhile and I had to just let it out.
