I Will Never Leave You

I lay here in an ebony box
Just an empty shell
Surrounded by silk and wood
My soul left my body long ago
No, there wasn’t any pain
I know that was a worry you had
Look at your eyes
Red and swollen from sadness
You don’t have to cry
I swore that I would never leave you
Our souls are one
So I will always be with you
Just look for me in your dreams
Because I will be there waiting
Waiting to love you as I always have
To love you as I always will

truly a beautiful and heartfelt write. the poem has the sort of mystique that I can almost pretend you really have left, yet when the time comes you'll have left behind such an imprint of yourself for all to experience. magic of poetry I suppose. thanks for sharing this. -Yoni
