I Will Never Forget My Aunt

I will never forget my aunt: Your big smile that when on for miles. How you creamed your velvet skin each night. The coconut cake that was to die for. How we would laugh until we cried. Riding the bus into town for shopping and lunch. A special small box each Christmas with that five inside. Up early to go crabbing and cooking for lunch. Loved talking with you on the phone from miles away. How I cried when I would go home and leave you behind. I prayed you had been my mom so I could stay. To this day I miss you more than words can say. Date Written: 5/11/2020 I Will Never Forget 2 Place I will never forget...Contest Judged:5/17/2020 Sponsored by: Silent One

This poem reminds me of someone close to me with whom I shared innocent memories. I hope she is happy in her afterlife. God bless you. Congratulations Paula :)

It is possible to love an aunt or uncle more than your mum or dad - a friend i have was brought up her her aunt as her mom had a business - as a result, she loves her mom, but her aunt more! Sensitive, genuine write Paula, Hugs,Jenny

wow, this sounds so nice. there is a contest on this, huh??? I had an aunt like that. Unlike my mom, she did not care about doing housework all the time and we would stay up late having treats when I spent weeks in the summer with her family. A good aunt is a rare gem.
