I Will Follow You

I will follow you
in no comfortable shoes
but leather loafers
stumble on rocks and cracks
ignoring my blisters

I will follow you
in no health or well-being
but bedbound
write your story
with an IV in my arm

You are the medicine
flowing in my veins
the endorphins in my brain
the end to my means
the wellness I aim for

I will follow you
with my feet and my heart
like the shadows of my hopes
I will follow you
in any way I can
