I Went For a Walk Today
I went for a walk today,
Deep within the woods,
On a trail hardly traveled,
To a place nobody has heard…
I was just a feather,
Carried by the breeze,
Flowing ever so softly,
As I glided through the trees…
I came to a hollow,
That had a small stream,
And sat on the bank,
To listen to it sing…
I watched five twigs,
Three leaves float by,
And stared at the reflections,
Cast by the sky…
I felt I was being watched,
So I turned in my fright,
And saw why fate had brought me here,
To this glorious sight…
A unicorn so pure, so white,
Danced from out of the gate,
Touched my face and smiled,
Then asked why I was late…
He said he loved me,
But I could not stay,
And that we will be together,
Forever, he promised, someday…
I went for a walk today.
Deep with the woods,
On a trail hardly traveled,
To a place I will return…
