Notes About The Poem

Floor Tile, Portugal, Azulejos, Adam

I Weep

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? ~Jeremiah 17:9

I weep,
shedding the tears
of overwhelming grief
known throughout all generations
after
the snake
deceived mother Eve with charming
and seductive evil,
claiming knowledge
is god.
