I Watch Without Comment

I watch the child peel a banana one small bit of peel at a time
Rule is one trip to the garbage can; but I am in charge now.
Teacher has left the room.

He travels back and forth to the waste can throwing one bit in at a time.
Eighteen trips; I say nothing.
Being one of those “cannot sit still” kids myself.

It is not easy; you have to take out your scissors which you are not supposed to have out during lunch and cut each peel of the banana into about six pieces.

Aw, you really handled that well. I just despise arcane rules that really serve no purpose. That kid was probably expect a sharp retort, and you showed him mercy and grace. Love it.

I always stay quiet, enjoying reasons that make no sense being broken.
