I Was Right

step backward from this fixation
when you weren't
an addiction
step back even further
to a time where we'd pass by-
a glance,
hello
that was it

and then nights never ended
and this love we pretended
it was us against the world
4 months conquered -
unconditionally toxic love
so poisonous the gases leaked
exposed the already exposed heart
that was half healed
horrific hostile obsession
that masked the love it should have
masked the face that was exposed
from the gases of my in constructed heart-
unaware
so fast
you came in swept me up

filling my heart
with an aesthetic passion
one I've never yet had
tortured, punctured, heart oozing-
it's a shame we both knew it was wrong
clinging onto a feeling much more than lust-
needing, exceeding, secluding
unconditionally committed to the wrong
but now I wish I was right...
