I Was Not Consulted

I WAS NOT CONSULTED
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

Here I am, I was not consulted
But unceremoniously evicted
Into the cold uncaring world
Stranger then handed me furled
Into the hands of my ejector
She now becomes my protector
Forced to become a remora
Simple smile turns into an aura

Soon my suckling days will end
On my own, I’ll need to defend
My actions from here on out
Mine; that’s, what life’s about
Times of sorrow, times to elate
Adjust and carry my own freight
