I Was Like You I Can Relate
Kindness soaking through my veins.
In time, I thought it would be rearranged.
Trying to find the right words
it is frightening.
I really don't want
to end up fighting.
I try to see the best in life.
When I try to help,
they put up a fight.
Frustration overwhelms me
Why can't they see...
The problem is not just you or me.
What happened to you?
Why can't you trust?
Your parents hurt you,
but that's only the crust.
You must dig down
find out what your feeling.
These issues inside,
I understand the screaming.
Share with me,
your problems and doubts.
I promise we'll try
to work this one out.
As the feelings emerge, the burden is lifted.
They tell me I'm strong and somewhat gifted.
I tell them the reason I do not hate.
I was like you, I can relate.
