I Was Here

I want you to remember that i existed,
that i am alive.

But often I feel invisible, like a whisper in the wind,
A fleeting moment in time, that nobody has pinned.

I yearn for someone to see me, to know that I've sinned,
To feel the warmth of recognition, before my time is thinned.

For to be noticed is to be seen, to know that we matter,
To have someone acknowledge us, before our life's a scatter.

And so I wish you to know I’m here.
