I Wanted Her To Be President

She said maybe to so many things, I was not sure she had an opinion
But after awhile I realized she has an honorary degree in diplomacy
Always accepting, never judging
I had not found anyone else like this in the world yet
I was amazed and pleasantly surprised
She never put anyone down or used derogatory names
I wanted her to be the queen or the president,
but she was not excited about either
preferring to be a neighbor, friend, and nurturer instead.

Thank you Demetrios. I have so many friends it is crazy, but I let them talk at me while I paint and they love that and it entertains me too, so painting helps.

Hi, Caren. Nice touching you again! Wasn’t sure where you were going with this in its beginning. We have all been so Topside brainwashed about our resumes in recent decades. Arrows target the peaks, but as your friend & poem present, we should all keep firming the foundation. Lots yeah poetry over publish a book?

Thank you Sally. I appreciate it. I wrote 3 political poems in the same day once but did not post them because there was so much rage in them. It did me good to "get them out" though.

Heya Caren, there are not many people like this left around, where I live anyway, a lot of busybodies and judges, but I have met a handful of nonjudgmental people in my life, and I remember them just like in your poem, terrific writing, cheers David

Thank you David. You need to hang out with social workers. They are almost too non-judgemental.

WoW Caren. This is a lovely tribute to someone you truly admired. It would actually make a lovely tribute to Mom. I love this. A fave for me. God Bless, JB

Thank you Judy. It is a tribute to most of the women I have been lucky enough to call "friend".
