I Want to Rejoice and Celebrate
cool crisp refreshing
waters of Guyana
rejuvenating ambiance
plunging into her depths
I feel reborn and alive
secrets of the ancients
held in place by these waters
I feel my ancestry
in my bones and wet hair
Feeling cherished and beloved
I do not want to emerge
this cocoon of life uplifts me
I want to rejoice and celebrate
the waters of Guyana
