I Want To Believe

Last night I fell awake
out of a nightmare,

The world was cracking and splintering,
into sparkling, crystal, fragments,
Like broken glass in a parking lot,

I want to believe,
We can save ourselves

The hopelessly human,
Flawed, ugly, dangerous, squabbling children-

Can be transformed,
into beings who love without hesitation,
and return us to Eden,

I want to believe,
All is not lost,

That my light can shine like yours
and we start working-

Breaking down the card house of illusions,
Get a dustbin and sweep them up
Throw them away,

Leaving us only
visions and ideas

That seem unrealistic or impossible
Yet,it just might work

To create a better existence
on this blue speck
called Earth.

Keep believing, Rose. Someday, maybe someday. God Bless. Vince
