I Want To Be Free
Let me spread my wings,
and soar over the valley like a bird.
So please release me, I want to be free.
A piece of freedom is all I want.
To get my senses back from this
cruel, mean world.
It’s a nice calm day, with a slight
tease of peace. I want to seize this
moment., for just one minute longer.
A feel of the southern breeze,
against my face causes me to sneeze.
I ease myself around a cloud, looking below
to find geese ten degrees away.
Gliding along beside the geese, I
get a feeling that is so intense. My reality
was soon restored. When I heard a sound
that roared inside my head.
A gun shot from the trees, wakes me up.
I get on my knees and began to pray.
I ask for a cease fire, from the war.
All that I get is reprise from the world.
But the lease is over, I must go. I thought that
I could appease this day, so I could
get some rest from this cruel, mean world.
So please release me, I want to be free.
