I Want To Be Free

I want to be free,
Free like a bird,
But these shackles keep holding me down,
I want to love,
Love like I’ve never loved before,
But there’s this pain in my heart,
It makes me want to get stitches,
There are new places I want to see,
There’s this fresh air I want to breathe,
But my legs can’t take me far enough,
So I’m stuck in this place,
And my thoughts are stuck in my mind.
And my emotions are stuck in my heart,
I want to feel the ocean,
I want to see the line where the sky kisses the sea,
I want to see the waves of the sea rolling,
I want to stand on the mountain’s peak,
And see the world beneath me,
I want to see it for what it truly is,
I want to stand in the city center,
In the midst of the noise, in the middle of the chaos,
And find this peace,
I want to close my eyes and feel the world around me,
I want to be free,
I want to live.
