I Want a Love

I don't know if my heart can take another fall,
My heart only gives nothing or gives it all,
The things I have been through have been lessons in life,
No matter how unfair,
No matter how trite,
The lessons in love have been hard on my trust,
What I thought had been love turned out to be lust,
I can't go through another break-up,
I don't think my heart can take it,
But without love in my life I don't know how I'll make it,
So I'll give my heart out once again,
And hope I can find a lover that's an honest and true friend,
Someone to finally treat me right,
Someone who will love me and tell me every things all right,
A person that's honest and careful with my emotions,
Someone filled with passion and devotion,
Because I want a love that will last for forever,
Even if finding it is a lifelong endeavor.
