I Walked On the Beach Today

"I walked on the beach today,
Along tides edge I made my way

Towards the lighthouse on the point,
It’s beacon of light which anoints

Ships at sea it must protect,
From a catastrophic shipwreck

So to it beckons me,
To come see it’s view of the sea

And to feel the power,
Each wave delivers on its tower

This is my church today,
As I am moved to pray

That this beacon will guide me,
Towards the goodness God wants me to see

Commanding strength from every wave,
With fortitude to be brave

To face the challenge of life,
And find happiness in what is right

This is God’s present to us,
And through prayer, we open it up

To receive the grace of his love,
And surrender our hearts to him above"
