I was born and raised in Florida and have only lived where snow falls since I retired. We live in the isothermal zone of North Carolina and only get one to three snowfalls a year; and then only a sprinkling to five or six inches. If we get a foot, I may even get to make a big snow man.

I Wait in Apprehension By Franklin Price 12/8/2018 I wait in apprehension For the snow flakes to arrive Retired from the work of life Don't have to go and drive The TV says it's coming Could be an inch to ten Spent yesterday preparing We may have to hunker in It will make the view enthralling With the fall leaves covered white I never got them raked and bagged The snow will make it right I bought a snow sled yesterday There's a hill beside the house “You're much too old to do this” Said my long time loving spouse The kid inside won't listen In second childhood I am ten I'll sled down when the snow is here Climb up and go again I trust the weather people They report on what's to be Say the snow will be here in awhile I'll just have to wait and see
