I Used To

i used to love when you touched me 
i used to love when you held me 
i used to love when you shielded me 
i used to love when you loved me 
i used to care 

but then you changed 
you used to care to
that's when it started
the hitting 
the screaming 

you used to love me 
you used to protect me 
you used to heal me 
but after a while
you did the opposite

i didn't want to hurt anymore
i didn't care
i wanted to get away 
i had to try

so i ended it 
i feel so much better

me and you went our separate ways
but i still want you 
i never wanted you to leave
i never said goodbye
