I Used To

Written By: D. Collins 5/3/24

I used to know somebody who was all that.
The very definition of what we call PHAT.
Pretty, hot, and tempting ain't what I'm saying.
Because the beauty I saw was underlying.
A well-kept secret God hid from me.
Then said, Homey, that's not your destiny.
He had something better, if I followed Him.
I'd get the top branch of crem de la crem.
I used to know somebody who had it going on.
But just couldn't be happy until I was gone.
Fate has set the stage, and it is in place.
I'll lay low until God grants me His grace.
