I Try To Keep
I walked along the old railroad tracks
Surrounded by yellow hues all around
Birds chattered happily in the bushes
Lifting my spirit with their sound
The birch trees shined, even with gray sky
As I wondered where you are
My thoughts adrift a morning breeze
That came to me, from oh so far
Autumn is moving quickly now
Making way for winter’s return
I’m bracing for the cold to arrive
While trying to keep, each lesson I learn
