I Trust My Heart Not To Betray Me

They say greed comes over with power All corrupt powerful people had kind hearts But they couldn't overcome selfishness And the kind hearts vanished like the wind They say the poor made them cry And they wished for power to help them But after warming seats in high positions All they saw were insects If they changed after Or were born greedy...I don't know They ought to turn back and put themselves in the poor's shoes Or at least have a change of heart I wish to become someone powerful One people can count on and run to Corrupt-free and generous will I be Cause I trust my heart not to betray me

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed New Year.
