I Tried To Stop Writing

I tried to stop writing
And just be
A cloud drifting by, so free.
But clouds carry rain
Like I carry pain
So I cried out poetry.

I tried to stop writing
And hoped maybe
To be like a blooming red rose.
But it withered in time,
So I wrote some rhyme
And I bloomed there, I suppose.

I tried to stop writing
And just float
Like a shipwrecked paper boat,
But the sun came up
I had to get up
To write again as I ought.

I'm glad the Suns an inspiration.... gla you are more determined to write, than the moment before. Don't ever let no one sink your sail boat. As they have mine

Thank you SKAT A - this was just a whimsical poem that used a different line arrangement and alternate rhyme. Life, like writing, must never depend on other people's approval or say, and as writers we cannot really stifle the Art, we just can't.
