I Touched a Star

For many years, I've carried the emptiness.
The lonliness and the pain.
My tears have fallen inside, so much more,
then the worst of the rain.
Anger swelled, hatred yelled,
distrust ruled my soul.
Life was a wasted thing,
with no specific goal.
I had no friends, nor a destiny to rule.
I carried an opinion of a world, cold and cruel.
No desire to make a life,
or to stay in one place to long.
No music in my heart, to hear life's precious song.
Then...I met her, from a world that seems so far.
I kissed her, I loved her, and then I knew,
I touched a star.
