I Took It

I never realized
how much it meant
to you how much
you favored it.

I thought I loved her
but I was young
so young and I
didn’t know better.

It was easy to
take it once I
saw how beautiful
the bracelet was
all those charms.

So I took it
when I saw it
mingling with other
not so pretty things.

I took it and
marched over to
her house and I
put it on her wrist.

I didn’t get the
response I was hoping
for but now she
has it for good.

Forgive me it was
a precious memory
to you
and I took it
and gave it away
forever.

very thought provoking write Rob. It has my mind twisting in several directions concerning the theft of the bracelet and the belief the memory was also stolen. Nicely done.
