I Took It
I never realized
how much it meant
to you how much
you favored it.
I thought I loved her
but I was young
so young and I
didn’t know better.
It was easy to
take it once I
saw how beautiful
the bracelet was
all those charms.
So I took it
when I saw it
mingling with other
not so pretty things.
I took it and
marched over to
her house and I
put it on her wrist.
I didn’t get the
response I was hoping
for but now she
has it for good.
Forgive me it was
a precious memory
to you
and I took it
and gave it away
forever.
