I thought we were in love

I thought we were in love
One of us was
For the first time

I thought we were married
I know I was
Unsure what you thought we were doing

My memories of us were once good
They have since turned into mud, muck and mire
Your antics caused me anguish and sadness

I thought we were forever after
You left me sad, alone, and trembling
It took me awhile to pick up the pieces
