I Thought

I thought you were great.
But you turned out to hurt
worst than that burn on my soul.
Your true colors finally shown.

I thought it was love.
I thought this would be
the relationship that would
triumph all the others.

I thought I was happy.
The happiest I have ever been.
And you know what.
That happiness came from you.

I thought...
But in all honesty,
I don't really know
What I really thought.
