I Think We Should All Believe
I don't believe in God, she says.
She is a mother. Did she think she created that baby?
The rainbow story is a myth, she adds.
What? I stare at her in disbelief.
Have you ever read that Bible?
No.
Okay.
Would you be willing to try it?
No.
What about Adam and Eve, Noah, the Ark?
What about Jesus?
You have to believe in Jesus! I say.
Because I think everyone should believe in miracles.
Miracles are such a relief!
But she does not
I feel sad for her
Life after death?
Heaven?
She shakes her head 'no'.
Her children are watching and listening.
I pray for them, hoping they will develop their own paths
And find Jesus, so they can believe in God, heaven, and miracles.
