I Think of You Coming Home

I try not to dwell on your absence.
but I am conveyed by romance
to reminisce of the times we shared.

It's painful to re-live our happy hours
and to only think of them as memories,
just specks of time and illusions that

impeccably portrays a happy life.
I wonder the moment you will be back
as a stronger man and a smarter man.

During the absence you are away, you
are trained and taught as a better man,
as a fighter and as a healer for our nation.

And though over time you may change
while we are parted away,
I pray that your heart and spirit stays

the same and that our love remains.
These nights, all I do when I lay alone
is think of you coming home.
