I Think I'Ll Try To Write a Sonnet Now
I think I'll try to write a sonnet now
They say it takes a while to learn the ropes
Yet while it's true that no one's taught me how
Still something deep inside me whispers, "Hope!"
I'll seek a subject that will reach one's soul
Like faith or love, or flower's bloom in spring
The meter and the rhyme should surely flow
While metaphors and similes need ring
The start must grab the reader, hold him fast
So that his blood is coursing through his veins
Engage him from the first word to the last
Addressing his emotions and his brains
I see it's almost time this sonnet ends
Hope you've enjoyed this poem, dearest friend
