I Swear

Don't use profanity, don't curse or cuss Why all the commotion, why all the fuss? Is it really that bad without using vulgarity? It's alot like slang in it's own singularity Why do we call them swear words as if a dedication, oath, or pledge? Why all the judgment like a crime was alleged? There are worse foul profound words filled with ignorance so why take offense? It's amazing how quickly so few words can put people on the defense Be careful of course in how you choose to word your words Sometimes we yell obscenities to be heard They can be a tool in releasing emotions They roll off the tongue naturally for some as they go through the motions For some it's a second language all of its own Others find it repulsive and don't condone that it's known Who came up with swear words anyway? Why do we pick on profanity but slang and other use of improper grammer is okay?

I LOVE this poem, Melissa. In my family they are simply colorful words:) I never have understood it either. I have learned restraint but now as I am getting on up in years, i pretty much say what I want , when I want and where I want:)
