I Still Do

Do you ever dream of better times
Of peaceful days and nursery rhymes
When love and faith walk hand in hand
War and hate are forever banned
Do you believe there will be a day
When peace and love are here to stay
Better times for me and you
Keep believing. I still do
Do you ever say a silent prayer
That all mankind begins to care
Where leaders leave their ivory tower
And do not succumb to greed and power
Respect for life comes shining through
Please keep praying. I still do
Do you believe the day will come
When man will be delivered from
All the pain and all the sorrow
Finding hope in a bright tomorrow
Dreaming dreams that do come true
Believe in those dreams. I still do

I am new to poetry soup and did not even see the feature, perhaps I do not know how or when to locate it. I can locate my appreciation of your write on the dream though. It is very good. Thanks for reading my poem, God bless you.

If I was to tell the truth somewhere I think I stopped dreaming. I still always think everything will always turn out all right but to think about the leaders stepping in line and ruling for the good of mankind,,,I didnt realise until I read this,,,I lost that somewhere.

Loved this hopeful poem! Thank goodness the human spirit lives on in spite of dire times. I have often wondered how people endure worse things than we will see in our lifetime....but there is an inborn strength, and vision of hope, having faith that dreams can come true.. We can never cave in to complete despair ~ Love, Carrie

So Beautifully written Vince, So much faith and optimism here..I do have dreams where I see everyone getting along, helping each other out,no hatred, no discrimination, no war,no pain or suffering but so much love, peace, joy and contentment..I pray for this always...I will hold onto my faith and continue to pray for brighter and better days...I believe that dreams do come true but I leave it all in Gods Hands..He is the only one that can work miracles. Lovely write..GB, Tyesha

I am glad the voice in this poem is still holding out on the world blending in harmony.. unfortunately I don't think that will ever be because we are humans and our shortcomings won't allow us to be without strife. Lovely poem.

To paraphrase the late John Lennon: "You may say you're a dreamer but you're not the only one. And I'm joining you in this one so the world will live as one." Yes, just like you, I still do too, Mr. Vince Suzadail Jr, because when we stop dreaming for better things, we might as well be dead. Regards, Fred
