I Started a Joke

I started a joke because I was bound

to be a comedian! No one laughed -

though one person made a small snorting sound!

I started a joke because I was bound

to be funny, but now it’s going around

that I’m just daft and no good at my craft.

I started a joke because I was bound

to be a comedian; no one laughed!

Such a very creative triolet and a very entertaining read my dear friend, Andrea. Contest was judged or not, it was already a winner in my book. I enjoyed a lot. Thank you very much for sharing. Have a great week to you and your family! love lots always, Leonora

p.s. every time I read the contest requirements, I hear the Brother's Gibb singing the song, then I get lost listening. It is a problem!

Darn your muse can work thru any writing jam! It never fails to show - you can pull out a poetic response, like a boxer pulls a controlled, unexpected punch from seemingly no where (is that an accurate boxing metaphor? I've no clue, can't watch men, no, people, hit each other OR the entertained faces.) I digress. If I had to muse bet one Soup person, 100% of the time, you'd be my poet choice. Not that I'm encouraging gambling. Another good time for me ... CayCay

Works well with the tone of the song Andrea. You haven't sent me a list of those must reads of yours.

I always laughed at the jokes of the comedian wanna-be; maybe it was because I just didn't get the joke. Good luck in the contest, Andrea. John
